“My Mom, Jayne”

On a plane, I randomly chose this documentary to watch because I thought I had read a good review of it a while ago.  Indeed, the “Popcornmeter” gave it 95% and IMDB gave it 8.4/10. Mariska Hargitay of NCIS fame had a famous, sex symbol mother - Jayne Mansfield - and directed this captivating film about the life and legacy of her mom.  Mariska was only 3 when Mansfield was tragically killed, but relies on her siblings, relatives and friends to give us a full picture of the true essence of this iconic Hollywood legend (spoiler alert:  she was not a dumb blond).
