“Adolescence”
This four part series is riveting, disturbing and extremely well-acted. Not unlike watching a theatrical production, each one-hour part is shot in just one take so there is no editing and very few scene changes. The drama focuses on 13 year old Jamie who is accused of murdering a classmate in a small town in the U.K. The interplay of the police, the court system, the school, Jamie’s classmates and his family create high tension and sometimes high hope that maybe life can normalize again? This series reminds you of the challenges of middle school: personal insecurities, social pressures and having young brains that can easily make bad choices. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 99% and this adult brain thinks that is spot-on.
