Want to enjoy all the benefits of flying private without the price tag?  Then book yourself a ticket on Tradewind Aviation that just opened a hub in Bedford, MA (about 35 minutes from Boston).  They fly to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard 3 times/day.  You show up 15 minutes before the flight, go through NO security (they don’t even look at your license) and you can take up to 50 pounds of luggage.  The plane holds up to 8 passengers but I have yet to be on a full plane.  You can book online for single tickets or buy a package of tickets at a discount if you travel frequently.  Tradewind destinations include the Northeast, Bahamas and Caribbean.  Given that Cape Air is about $300 a pop and it feels like they wind up their prop planes with a rubber band, I am giving Tradewind Aviation not just applause, but a standing ovation!
